Comments: It is great to visit the web site and see the progress made from our first engine in the gas station by the old Plaza to the many added stations and equipment. This was my start in the fire service with Tom Parent, Bob Massey and John Brown. We had great teachers like Howard Gaskill, Norm Cheeseman, Harry Jackson, Gene Bott. We had great mentors like Jim McKendricks, Donny Kensler, Hank Havercoch and Vince Ridikas. We had great times at our annual corn feasts, neighboring parades and our snow sleep-ins at the firehouse. I have been with fire companies in three states, held line and staff officer positions, designed a company patch and changed the colors of the equipment (Abingdon VFC #4, Abingdon, MD). I was with the Baltimore (MD)City Arson and Bomb Squad and today I continue to investigate fires in the private sector all around the country. I miss those days in Willingboro and remember getting our first 1615 unit for the new station on Charleston Road. I am writing a book and will include some photos of days gone by in Willingboro so will let you guys know when it is released. Be Safe !

Comments: I visited the site to view the motor vehicle accident involving a friend of our family and her children. I was very impressed with the action by those who first arrived on the scene as well as the other members of the fire and ems.
I am sure the family when they can will thank your departments for the quick response and the care you all took while saving her life. God bless all of you and keep you safe.

I see some familiar names here. I was Chief when we fought our way to get on Burlington County Central Dispatch. Hope you all don't hate me for that!!

Comments: I just found your website! I served as a volunteer 1969-1981. Without a doubt this was the highlight of my working life. Only those who have been firefighters understand the camraderie and feelings of brotherhood. I was sorry to hear of the passing of Norm Cheesemen. He was my Chief for many years, great firefighter, great person! What ever happened to the 1953 750 gal Mack?

PS you sold the old 1616 Mack to a Fire Company here in Arkansas, I went to see it. It was still in great shape!

Comments: I used to live in Garfield North back in the 70's. Yesterday, my old friend and neighbor was in our old neighborhood and emailed us that our old home was completely gone, and there was only an empty lot. I googled our old address 44 Norwood Lane, and had my heart broke to see my childhood home completely gone. Thank God that everyone was safe and no one was hurt. I know it takes a lot of dedication not only of the fire and rescue squads but also their families. To the men and women plus their families THANK YOU for serving not only your community, but also our country. Thank you for posting the story. Be Safe. Regards, Janette B
