Fire Damages Vehicle In Garfield East
By Firefighter Mark Robertson Sr.
April 3, 2013
Firefighters were called to 17 Edgewater Lane at 8:16 am on the morning of March 7th for a vehicle on fire. The owner reported warming up the vehicle when smoke and fire came from underneath the hood. Engine 1611 arrived at 8:22 am and found fire coming from under the hood of a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the home.
Firefighter Robertson pulled a 1 3/4" hoseline and started to extinguish the fire. Firefighter Blackwell used a hand tool to open up the hood for better access. The crew was able to have the fire extinguished in a matter of minutes. Once the fire was extinguished the vehicle was turned back over to the owner for reporting to the insurance company. All units were clear from the scene at 8:42 am.
Units:
Engine 1611, Ladder 1615, and Ambulance 1693
