Firefighters from Willingboro, and several neighboring communities joined forces to extinguish a fire in the Rittenhouse Park section of town on November 21st. The department, along with firefighters from Delran, Beverly, and Moorestown were called to 15 Radford Place at 7:40 pm for a house fire. A caller from the home dialed 911 and reported a fire in the kitchen.

Lieutenant Ferrell arrived in five minutes, along with Delran Engine 2312 and found a townhome with heavy smoke coming from the first and second floors. Willingboro Engine 1613 arrived seconds later and the crew came forward to assist with firefighting operations. The crews from both departments entered the home and started to extinguish the fire in the kitchen and to check the rest of the home for fire extension. The fire was placed under control at 8:05 pm by Lieutenant Ferrell.

A crew from Beverly Engine 1222 checked a neighboring home for any fire and to remove smoke that entered the home from the house which was on fire. The Delran crew checked the home on the other side of the home that was fire, but found no fire or smoke in that home. The home where the fire occurred suffered heavy fire and heat damage to the first floor, and smoke and heat damage to the second floor as well.

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire, but a dog from the home on fire expired due to smoke inhalation. The fire is under investigation by the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. The American Red Cross was called to assist with temporary housing for the residents of the home. All units were cleared from the scene at 10:59 pm.
