Fire Causes Damage To Millbrook Park Home
By Firefighter Mark Robertson Sr.
August 21, 2015
At 7:51 pm on the evening of August 10th, Willingboro Firefighters were dispatched to a home on Midfield Lane for a reported fire in the laundry room. The crew of Engine 1613 was already assisting with a significant fire in Delanco Township. Units from Delran, Westampton, and Moorestown were immediately dispatched to the incident on Midfield Lane. Chief of Department Burnett arrived on scene and found a Cape Code style home with a fire in the laundry room.
Delran Engine 2311 arrived at 7:59 pm and took a 1 3/4" hose line into the home. The crew made their way to the laundry room and quickly extinguished the fire. Natural gas service to the home was also shut off by 2311's crew. Westampton Chief 2700 and Ladder 2725 arrived on location and the crew assisted with removing smoke from the residence and checking for hidden fire behind the walls and ceiling of the laundry room. Chief Burnett was able to place the incident under control at 8:07 pm.
Due to the quick response of the neighboring departments, fire damage was limited to the laundry room. The rest of the house sustained minor smoke damage. Upon notification of the fire, Engine 1613 was released from the fire in Delanco and responded to Midfield Lane to assist with overhaul operations. No civilians or firefighters were hurt during the fire. Chief Burnett released all units at 9:04 pm.
