Willingboro Fire and EMS crews responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Levitt Parkway and VanSciver Parkway on August 17th. The units, along with Virtua Hospital Paramedics, were called to the accident at 8:30 am. The crews were advised of a two car accident with one person trapped in a vehicle. While the crews were enroute to the accident, they were advised that one person was unconscious, and that a medical helicopter was dispatched as well.

Engine 1613 arrived at 8:36 am and confirmed one patient was trapped in a vehicle. Acting Lieutenant Fresco and Firefighter Riley used the Jaws of Life to remove a door from the vehicle. The rescue was completed by 1613's crew at 8:45 am. Ambulance 1693 was on scene and conducted patient care of the trapped occupant during the rescue. Engine 1612 responded to Memorial Middle School to set-up a landing zone for the medical helicopter.

Due to the assessment of the trapped occupant by the ambulance crew and paramedics, the medical helicopter was not used for patient transportation. The occupant was taken to a local trauma center by Ambulance 1693 and Virtua Hospital Paramedics. Engine 1612 responded to the accident scene to assist 1613's crew. An ambulance from Burlington City transported a second occupant to a local hospital. Both of the engines were clear from the scene at 9:59 am. Fire Police 1618 was on scene until 10:21 am to assist with traffic control.

Units: Engines 1613 and 1612, Fire Police 1618, and Ambulance 1693

Mutual Aid: Burlington City Ambulance 9096, and Virtua Hospital Paramedics
