A small fire caused damage to the garage of a home in County Club Park on the morning of March 17th. The resident of the home smelled smoke and the working smoke detector in the home was sounding. She called 911 and the fire department was dispatched to 48 Courtland Lane at 7:48 am. Engine 1613 arrived on location in eight minutes and found smoke coming from the garage and the front door of the house.

Firefighters Anderson and Lehuquet pulled a 1 3/4" hoseline from the engine and prepared to enter the home. Ladder 1615 arrived a minute later and Captain Ramsey took Command of the incident. The firefighters from Engine 1613 and Lieutenant Friddell entered the home and made their way to the garage. Firefighters Centrone and Priest forced open the rear door of the garage and a window to help remove smoke and heat from the garage. Upon entering the garage a small fire was discovered and then quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Captain Ramsey was able to place the fire under control at 8:11 am. Beverly Engine 122 arrived on scene and assisted with opening the front garage door, and removing damaged items from the garage. Firefighters from Delran Engine 2312 were on scene to assist if the fire had gotten bigger. Westampton Ladder 2725 was on scene as a RIC Company, and Burlington Township Squirt 3014 provided coverage of Willingboro Township in case of any other emergencies in the town.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire. Due to the damage from the fire, the home was declared uninhabitable by the Willingboro Township Building Construction Official's Office. Three adults and two children received assistance with temporary housing and other provisions from the American Red Cross. An investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office. The fire appears to be accidental at this time. All units were clear from the scene at 10:09 am.
