January 20, 2018

The Willingboro Fire Department was once again represented at the annual Operation 6 ABC Save a Life Fire Safety Campaign. The program, which is in its 26th year, is sponsored by WPVI Television in Philadelphia along with Kidde, The Home Depot, American Water Resources, and local tri-state Toyota dealers. This year's program distributed 10,000 detectors to 140 fire departments from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

The event was held on Tuesday, January 16th at the Philadelphia Fire Academy in Northeast Philadelphia. 6ABC President and General Manager Bernie Prazenica, and 6ABC weekday traffic and weather anchor Karen Rogers, spoke to the many attendees at the event. Deputy Chief Jamie Clark represented the department for the presentation ceremony and luncheon. After the ceremony, the department was given a supply of Kidde Smoke Detectors with 10 year batteries.

The Willingboro Fire Department provides free smoke detectors to the residents of Willingboro. We have a number of smoke detectors that we will install in your home for you. There are several ways that you can receive free smoke detectors:

1. Stop by or call the temporary Fire Headquarters at 40 Middlebury Lane, (609) 871-7476 to schedule an appointment for us to install them for you.

2. Stop by our display at any township event to schedule an appointment for us to install them for you..

The department also has a limited supply of 9-Volt batteries available that we will install in your smoke detector.
