Several vehicles were damaged by fire in the parking lot of the Levitt Intermediate School on the morning of October 22nd. While clearing from another incident in Garfield Park North at 7:46 am, Engine 1613 was notified by the Burlington County 911 Center of a vehicle fire at the school. While enroute to the fire Ambulance 1691 advised 1613 that there was a column of smoke in the sky from Millbrook Park. The 911 center had also received numerous calls about the fire.

Engine 1613 arrived on scene in three minutes and Captain Gardner reported one car fully involved in fire, and a second car starting to burn. Firefighter Carcasio used a 1 3/4" hoseline to start extinguishing the fire in both cars. Firefighter LeHuquet assisted with hoseline movement, and used a hand tool to gain entry into both vehicles. Engine 1612 arrived and provided water to Engine 1613, and the crew assisted with the overhaul of the vehicles.

The quick work of the crews allowed for the fire to be placed under control at 7:54 am. Three vehicles were damaged by the fire. Two of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. The fire was investigated by the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. All units were clear from the scene at 9:13 am.
