Busy Shift Ends With A Vehicle Fire   By Firefighter Mark Robertson Sr. January 7, 2010   The Willingboro Fire Department's B Platoon ended a busy shift by extinguishing an early morning vehicle fire. The fire was reported at 1:29 AM on January 7th. The crews of Engine 1613 and 1611 arrived in 5 minutes and found a mini-van well involved in fire. Firefighter Fresco used a 1 3/4" handline to start extinguishing the fire as Firefighter Rydarowski and Captain Ramsey used hand tools to open the hood of the vehicle. The fire was almost completely extinguished in a matter of minutes. Captain Ramsey declared the fire under control at 1:48 AM. The crew spent the next several minutes making sure there was no hidden fire. Once all of the fire was extinguished, the vehicle was turned over to the Willingboro Police Department for removal and investigation. The crew was available from the scene at 2 AM. This incident was the platoon's 10th call during their 24 hour shift.
