Learn first hand what it's like to be a firefighter during the Willingboro Fire Department's Citizen Fire Academy! The Citizen Fire Academy is fun and informative for the citizens living or working in the Township of Willingboro. During this eight-week program, participants complete several hands-on training evolutions to gain a better understanding of fire department operations and emergency response. Topics include firefighting turnout gear and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), vehicle extrication, CPR/AED, search and rescue, hose operations, ladders, aerial operations, and much more.
This free, fun academy is to help inform participants on the way Willingboro Fire Department operates and the ultimate goal is to learn fire safety. There is no cost to attend this fun class. Participants must be as least 21 years of age and commit to attending seven of the eight classes. Space is limited as there is only 15 seats available. The group meets on every Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 9:30 pm at Willingboro FIRE & EMS located at 398 Charleston Road.
