Willingboro Firefighters participated in the Bring Your Kids To Work Day on Thursday, April 26th. Firefighters Bowe, Friddell, and C. Clark brought their sons and daughters to work for the day. The eight kids ranged in age from 5 to 13 years old. They participated in all of the normal daily activities of the firefighters.

The day started with several of the kids going to the gym to participate in morning exercises. Upon returning everyone participated in a hose rolling competition. Once the hose rolling was completed, everyone got a chance to paint wooden stakes that are used to secure hazardous areas. The kids helped with cleaning the firehouse and Engine 1613 before taking a break for lunch. Chief of Department Burnett also took time to welcome the kids to the firehouse for the day.

Once everyone had lunch, they started the afternoon cleaning Ladder 1615 and Fire Police 1618. The big project of the day was cleaning the deck of Ladder 1615. Due to a cooperative effort of the firefighters and the eight helpers, the deck went from dirty to sparkling clean. After a full day of work, all of the visitors were released from duty at 3pm.
