Willingboro Firefighters and Rescue 1699 responded to Edgewater Park at 5:37 pm on the afternoon of August 30th for a two car motor vehicle accident in front of the Golden Dawn Diner. Beverly Fire Department Deputy Chief Johnson and his crews were on location and reported that he needed the drivers door forced open so that EMS could remove the driver. Upon arrival Rescue 1699's crew stabilized the vehicle and set up the Jaws Of Life off the front bumper.

The EMS crew was attending to the driver who was covered with a rescue blanket along with an EMT in rear seat. The second vehicle in the accident was pushed away from the driver's door of the car where the trapped driver was located. Firefighter Bowe secured a rope to the driver's door to control it once it was opened with the hydraulic rescue tools. Firefighter D. O'Donnell used the Jaws Of Life and O-Cutters to force open the door.

1699 remained on location to assist with removing the driver from the vehicle. 1699 was restored to service on location and then released by Deputy Chief Johnson at 6:02 pm.
