On Easter Sunday at 3:50 pm the department was dispatched to a dwelling fire across from 46 East Stokes Road. The county's 911 Center reported that a neighbor called in a fire at the rear of the dwelling, and they were receiving numerous calls. While enroute, Engine 1613 was advised that the police department arrived and was reporting an attic fire. As Engine 1613 approached Garfield Drive and East Stokes Road, they had heavy smoke in the area. Captain Sitzenstock requested all companies in service, signifying a major fire.

When Engine1613 arrived, fire was showing through the roof of the garage and a portion of the second floor roof. There were two vehicles in the driveway and the police reported that they could not locate any occupants of the residence. A paramedic unit was dispatched as a precaution, and Captain Sitzenstock advised the 911 Center that the crew would be conducting a primary search. Lieutenant (Lt.) Clark and Firefighter Rydarowski entered the home with an 1-3/4" hose line and found heavy smoke on the first floor and fire in the garage attic. Firefighter Rydarowski proceeded to the garage to initiate the fire attack, and Lt Clark started a primary search of the first floor. He then proceeded to the second floor where he encountered zero visibility and high heat.

Lt. Clark requested the next unit to bring an additional hose line to the second floor. Fire was now showing through holes that were made to attack the fire upstairs. Arriving crews from Westampton Engine 2723 and Mount Laurel Quint 3614 were assigned to assist Engine 1613's crew with the primary search and fire attack on the second floor. The primary search of the structure proved no occupants were in the home.

Chief of Department Burnett arrived on location and took Command of the incident, while Captain Sitzenstock took Operations. Due to worsening conditions, the chief called for a second alarm and crews were removed from the home. Mount Laurel Quint 3614 used its elevated master stream to extinguish the bulk of the fire. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, additional arriving crews went into the home to check for any hidden fire.

Chief Burnett placed the fire under control at 4:31 pm. Firefighters from Delran, Beverly, Burlington Township, Burlington City, Cinnaminson, and Moorestown were also on location to assist with other tasks after complete extinguishment of the fire. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries as a result of the fire.

Due to the extensive damage to the home, the electricity and water services were shut off. An investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. Crews from Eastampton and Riverside were standing by at Willingboro Fire Headquarters in case of other emergencies in the town. All units were released from the incident at 7 pm.
