Friday, the cadets were put into action at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton. The cadets were shown a live fire demonstration of academy instructors extinguishing a car fire. The academy staff then tested them on the skills they learned throughout the week. The cadets were put through a real life house fire simulation. The cadets had to advance a hose line to the second floor of the burn building and extinguish simulated fire. They also had to search the building for trapped victims and remove the victims to safety.

In the afternoon on Friday, the cadets celebrated their achievements by having a graduation ceremony for their friends and family to attend. The graduation was attended by members of Willingboro Town Council, the Township Manager, the Public Safety Director, the fire department, and members of the local press.
The cadets performed remarkably well and truly enjoyed themselves.

The academy staff would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that who helped make the cadets experience a great success! The department is already working on next year’s youth academy to make it a more exciting and enjoyable experience.
