The officers and personnel of the Willingboro Fire and EMS Departments opened their doors for an informational meeting regarding the proposed new Emergency Services Building. The meeting was held on Tuesday, October 28th at the current Emergency Services Building at Charleston Road and JFK Way. The township's emergency services was represented by Chief of Department Anthony Burnett, all of the fire department's Captains and Lieutenants, the EMS Department's Captains, and close to 40 firefighters and emergency medical technicians.

68 residents were on hand for the meeting which started at 7pm. Also on hand were members of Willingboro Township Council and the Willingboro Township Manager. The residents and township officials were given a presentation by Chief Burnett and Fire Department Captain Doug Ramsey about the need for the new facility, and the state of the current facility. The presentation consisted of a power point presentation which talked about the make-up of the departments, the reasons for needing a new facility, an explanation of the current building's deficiencies, and concept drawings of the new facility.

Once the power point presentation was completed, fire and EMS department personnel took the residents, township officials, and members of the news media on a tour of the current building. The tour allowed everyone to ask questions about the current building and to view it's current condition. Once the tour of the building was completed, the residents were given a chance to comment on the presentation, the condition of the old building, and the proposed new building. Personnel from the fire and EMS departments were also given an opportunity to comment about the building project.

By the end of the evening, many of the residents in attendance had a better understanding of the current condition of the Emergency Service Building, and the need for a new building. Any residents who were unable to attend this open meeting can always stop by the building and ask for one of the on-duty supervisors for a tour of the building.
