Willingboro firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire in the utility room of a Millbrook Park home, therefore keeping damage to a minimum. The fire was reported at 11:23 am on December 5th at 22 Magnet Lane. The fire was reported to be in the utility room of the home, near the front door. Chief of Department Burnett arrived quickly and found a light smoke condition coming from the front of the home.

Engine 1613 arrived in five minutes and Lieutenant Friddell checked inside the home and found fire coming from the utility room. Firefighter Carcasio entered the home with a 2" hand line and started to extinguish the fire. Firefighter E. O'Donnell entered the home and used a hand tool to break through the ceiling, which revealed that some fire had made its way into the attic of the home. The crew was quickly able to extinguish the fire in the utility room and attic area of the home.

Additional firefighters from Delran and Beverly arrived on scene and assisted with the removal of heat and smoke from the home. They also checked the utility room and attic for any hidden fire, once Engine 1613's crew had exited the home. Fire damage was limited to the utility room and attic, with smoke and heat damage to other parts of the home. Due to the quick work of all firefighters, the structural integrity of the home was not damaged by the fire.

Firefighters from Mount Laurel and Moorestown, who were initially called to the scene, were quickly released by Chief Burnett. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. An investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office. All units were clear from the incident at 1:56 pm.
