Dryer Fire Causes Minor Damage To A Home In Garfield Park

Firefighters from Willingboro and several surrounding towns were called to 22 Ginger Lane on July 23rd for a reported house fire. The department was dispatched at 1:11 pm for the report of smoke coming from the laundry room. Chief of Department Burnett arrived in two minutes and found smoke coming from the front of the house. Engine 1613 arrived a minute later and the crew entered the home to investigate the source of the smoke.

Once inside the home the crew found a small fire inside of a clothes dryer. They used a small hose line to extinguish the fire. A crew from Westampton Engine 2723 arrived on scene and assisted with removing smoke from the home. Mount Laurel Quint 3614 also arrived on scene and assisted with removing the dryer from the home.

The clothes dryer was completely damaged by the fire. The rest of the home suffered minor smoke damage. The Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office and The Willingboro Township Construction Office were called to the residence. There were no injuries as a result of the fire and all units were clear from the scene at 2:36 pm.
