Willingboro Firefighters assisted Westampton Firefighters at a serious motor vehicle accident on Rancocas Road on the afternoon of March 22nd. Westampton Chief 2700, Rescue Engine 2723, and Ambulance 2782 were dispatched at 2:10 pm for a two car accident near the Westampton Municipal Building. Engine 2723 arrived on scene and confirmed that people were trapped due to the accident. Willingboro Rescue 1619 was dispatched at 2:15 pm at the request of Chief 2700 due to the reports of multiple people being trapped in the vehicles.

Once on location, Rescue 1619's crew used hydraulic rescue tools from Engine 2723 to assist with the rescue. Lieutenant Friddell and Firefighter Centrone worked to remove the passenger's side door from a car. Firefighter Priest used hydraulic cutting tools to start removing the roof from the vehicle. Westampton's crew had removed the door and cut the roof on the driver's side of the vehicle. Once both sides were complete, the crews worked together to life the dashboard up which is what trapped the driver in the vehicle.

Two patients were transported to the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. One person was flow to a trauma center by a medical helicopter, and the other was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. 1619's crew assisted with clean-up and was then released from the scene at 3 pm.
