The department's A Platoon responded to the Willow Pointe Apartments in Burlington Township on the evening of May 3rd for a fire in an apartment. Firefighters from Burlington Township, Burlington City, and Willingboro were called for the fire at 7:40 pm. Burlington City's Assistant Chief 9001 arrived first and reported a heavy smoke condition in the apartment. Burlington Township Police were evacuating neighboring apartments.

Engine 1612 arrived in six minutes and stretched a 1 3/4" hose line to the front door of the apartment. Firefighter Centrone entered the apartment to investigate the incident. He advised Captain Ramsey that it was a small fire on the stove, and a water filled fire extinguisher would be sufficient to extinguish the fire. Captain Ramsey and Firefighter Priest entered the apartment, and quickly extinguished the fire. The crew also opened up the apartment's windows to help remove the smoke from the building.

Burlington City Ladder 9035 arrived and set-up behind Engine 1612. The crew assisted with removing smoke the structure. The apartment suffered fire damage in the kitchen, and smoke damage to the rest of the unit. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. Engine 1612 was released from the scene at 8:13 pm
