Willingboro Firefighters were called to 24 Clubhouse Drive at 1:31 am on the morning of December 27th for a reported vehicle fire. Engine 1613 responded and was advised while enroute that a vehicle was on fire in the driveway of the home. While approaching the scene, the crew noticed a heavy column of black smoke from several blocks away. Once on location they found one vehicle fully engulfed by fire, with two nearby vehicles in danger of catching fire.

Firefighter Robertson pulled a 1 3/4" hoseline and started to extinguish the fire. Lieutenant Friddell and Firefighter LeHuquet used hand tools to start opening the vehicle. During the extinguishment of the fire the vehicle's fuel tank split open, sending gasoline spilling onto the ground. The gasoline further intensified the fire, which required the use of a portable firefighting foam unit to fully extinguish the fire. The crew was able to completely extinguish the fire at 2:00 am.

The two nearby vehicles did sustain damage due to the heat of the fire. The vehicle that was originally on fire was totally destroyed. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. An investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. All units were clear of the scene at 3:43 am.
