For the second time in as many days, Willingboro firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a house fire in the township. On May 15th the department was dispatched to 22 Endwell Lane at 1:14 pm for a house fire. Engine 1612 arrived in less than five minutes, and Captain Clark reported smoke coming from the roof of a one story home. Upon further investigation, he found fire coming through the roof on the side of the home. He then requested "All Companies In Service".

Lieutenant Ferrell and Firefighter D. O'Donnell entered the home with a 1 3/4" hoseline. Westampton Engine 2723 arrived on scene and connected a 5" supply hose to a nearby hydrant for Engine 1612. Both crews were in the home and found fire in the attic. They used hand tools to pull down the ceilings to access the fire. Chief of Department Burnett was able to place the fire under control in 16 minutes.

Due to blown-in insulation in the attic, there were several areas that were still smoldering once the fire was extinguished. Crews from Mount Laurel Engine 3611 and Delran Engine 2311 were used to assist with extinguishing all of the smoldering areas. All of the burned debris was removed to the outside of the home. The electric, gas, and water services to the house were disconnected by the proper authorities.

An investigation was completed by the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. The home was condemned by the Willingboro Township Construction Office until the completion of repairs. The American Red Cross provided assistance with housing and provisions to the family of the home. All units were clear from the scene at 4:29 pm.
