Willingboro Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the corner of Somerset Drive and Sedgewick Lane on the morning of May 29th for a reported car fire. The county's 911 Center dispatched the fire at 11:42 am. Willingboro Police and Ambulance 1694 arrived on scene and confirmed the car to be on fire.
Engines 1613 and 1612 arrived on scene in five minutes and found heavy fire in the engine and part of the passenger areas. Engine 1613's crew used a 1 3/4" hoseline to start extinguishing the fire. 1612's crew used hand tools to help open the hood of the vehicle.
The crews had the fire under control in five minutes. The car sustained heavy damage to the engine and passenger areas. The vehicle was towed from the scene. All units were clear at 12:11 pm |
