A vehicle was destroyed by fire on a street in Garfield East on the morning of June 6th. While handling another incident in Country Club Park, Engine 1613 was dispatched to Enderly Lane for the fire at 11:58 am. The county's 911 Center had received several calls for a vehicle on fire. Engine 1613's crew quickly cleared the other incident and were on scene at the fire in six minutes.
Upon arrival the crew found fire coming from under the hood and in the passenger area. Firefighter Centrone used a 1 3/4" hoseline to start extinguishing the fire. Firefighter Carcasio used hand tools to open the hood and assisted with extinguishing the fire. The crew was able to get control of the fire in four minutes.
There were no injuries from the fire. The vehicle's engine and passenger areas were completely destroyed by the fire. Willingboro Police personnel assisted the driver with getting the vehicle towed from the street. All units were clear at 12:20 pm.
