Two Vehicles Damaged In Head-On Crash

Fire and EMS personnel responded to a head-on motor vehicle accident on the evening of June 18th. The Burlington County 911 center received several calls about the crash on Marshal Lane with reports of a car on fire and a person trapped in the car. Units were dispatched at 7:28 pm, and Engine 1613 and Ambulance 1691 arrived on scene in two minutes. Captain Gardner reported a two vehicle accident with one car on fire, but nobody was trapped by the accident.

Firefighter Centrone pulled a 1 3/4" hoseline to start extinguishing the fire that was burning in the engine area of the car. Captain Gardner and Firefighter Carcasio assisted with gaining access to the engine area. Rescue 1619 arrived on scene two minutes later to assist Engine 1613's crew. Lieutenant Ferrell and Firefighter Bennett secured the battery on the second vehicle and put down and absorbent material on leaking vehicle fluids.

Chief of Department Burnett was on scene and requested a second ambulance. Ambulance 1694 arrived on scene and evaluated one of the drivers. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Fire department personnel were on scene until both cars were towed from the roadway. All units were clear at 8:17 pm.
