Since 1985 the month of October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness month. This year members of the department helped raise $500 for breast cancer research. The fundraising efforts were spearheaded by Firefighter Chris Clark. Department members purchased blue t-shirts for firefighters and EMTs, and grey t-shirts for supervisors, with pink lettering and logos for use when on duty.

The money raised from the sale of the shirts was donated during this year's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Philadelphia & Southern NJ fundraiser on October 20th. The fundraiser was a four-mile walk around Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ. Firefighter Clark and his family participated in the event.
