On Friday, January 27, 2023, James Anderson, Firefighter retired after more than 40 years of service to Willingboro Township. Firefighter Anderson was recognized with a retirement ceremony that began at 1:00 pm at Willingboro Fire and EMS Headquarters. Firefighter Anderson started his fire service career as a volunteer Firefighter in May of 1982. James Anderson was hired as a provisional Firefighter in February of 1991 then permanently placed in 1992. Also, James Anderson is an active Part-time Instructor at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center. James Anderson is a decorated Firefighter receiving many awards throughout his career. Firefighter Anderson is also a founding member of the IAFF local 3091, Sean Anderson Foundation 501 (C) (3). The Sean Anderson Foundation was established by the membership of Local 3091 in 2001 and is named on behalf of James and Lisa Anderson's son. The Sean Anderson Foundation was created to support firefighters and emergency medical technicians with health care assistance, to assist with community relief efforts, to ensure a healthy quality of life for all first responders, and to provide grants and scholarships Firefighter Anderson leaves behind a legacy, his son Erik, who currently serves as a Career Firefighter with Evesham Fire-Rescue.
