Brush Fire at Millcreek Park
By Firefighter Michael Centrone
October 30, 2024
On Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 7:26 pm, Willingboro Firefighters responded to Millcreek Park in the area of Parking Lot B for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival firefighters found several areas in the woods on the fire. Crews from Brush Unit 16 and Engine 1613 were able to contain the fires and put them out.
However, due to very dry conditions crews were sent back out at 5:40 am for an additional fire that had grown in size from the previous fires. Brush units from Delran Fire Department, Beverly Fire Department, and NJ State Forest Fire were called to assist in the morning. Fire crews worked over seven (7) hours to contain and extinguish the fire. The Burlington County Fire Marshals Office was also requested to respond to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
