Firefighters from Willingboro extinguished a small kitchen fire at 45 Harwick Lane. The department's A Platoon arrived four minutes after being dispatched at 4:22 p.m. Upon arrival they found a 2-story Cape Cod with smoke coming from the rear and side of the home.
Firefighter's J. Clark and Anderson entered the home and found smoke throughout, with fire in the kitchen. A crew from Westampton Engine 2723 assisted with ventilating the smoke from the first and second floor of the home. Once the fire was extinguished the crews made sure there was no hidden fire in the wall or behind the cabinets above the stove.
The fire was a result of unattended cooking. The resident was making food on the stove and left the pot unattended while elsewhere in the home. Nobody in the home was injured as a result of the fire. One window in the kitchen was broken and had to be secured by a board-up company.
