A home in the Millbrook Park section of town sustained heavy fire, heat, and smoke damage on the evening of April 12th at 10:01 pm. The department was dispatched to 11 Medford Lane for a reported house fire. The crew of Engine 1613 arrived in five minutes to find heavy fire coming from a second story window on the front of the house. Captain Ramsey requested "All Companies In Service", signifying an active fire.

Firefighters Rydarowski and Priest entered the home with a 1 3/4" hoseline. They proceeded up the interior stairs to start extinguishing the fire in a bedroom. Due to heavy fire an heat conditions they had to exit the home for a brief period of time. After successfully starting to extinguish the fire from the outside of the home, the crew made its way back inside to continue fighting the fire from inside.

While the crew was fighting the fire, Delran Engine 2312 arrived on scene and established a connection to a nearby fire hydrant for 1613. Westampton Ladder 2725 also arrived on scene and took up a position in front of the home. These crews then entered the home to take over for 1613's crew. They assisted with final extinguishment of the fire, along with completing a search and making sure no fire advanced into other areas of the home.

Chief of Department Burnett arrived on scene and assumed command of the incident. He was able to place the fire under control at 10:28 pm. He also requested the electric and natural gas services shut off to the home, and an investigator from the Burlington County Fire Marshals Office. The electric and gas were disconnected by Public Service, and the fire marshals office conducted an investigation.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury. He was checked by an EMS crew and returned to duty. Willingboro Fire Headquarters was covered by Delanco and Riverside firefighters in case of another incident in town. All units were clear from the scene at 2:12 am.
