January 30, 2020

The Willingboro Fire Department was once again represented at the annual Operation 6 ABC Save a Life Fire Safety Campaign. The program, which is in its 28th year, is sponsored by WPVI Television in Philadelphia along with Kidde, The Home Depot, Guardian Protection, and local tri-state Toyota dealers. Over the years the program has given approximately half a million smoke detectors to fire departments from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

The event was held on Tuesday, January 28th at the Philadelphia Fire Academy in Northeast Philadelphia. 6ABC President and General Manager Bernie Prazenica and 6ABC news anchor Tamala Edwards spoke to the many attendees at the event. Lieutenant Ferrell and Firefighter Anderson represented the department for the presentation ceremony and luncheon. After the ceremony, the department was given 48 Kidde Smoke Detectors with 10 year batteries. These detectors will be available, free of charge, to residents of Willingboro.

In conjunction with this program, the following event is being held this Saturday, February 1st:

Kidde and The Home Depot: Save A Life Saturday on February 1, 2020

From 10am until 2pm on Saturday, February 1st, Save A Life Saturday will be held at 14 Home Depot locations. Stop by to see your local Kidde Representative for more information on which Kidde smoke and CO alarms are right for your family, learn fire safety tips, and pick up a free escape plan to practice with your family.

For more information about this event, please see the link below.

The Willingboro Fire Department provides free smoke detectors to the residents of Willingboro. We have a number of smoke detectors that we will install in your home for you. There are several ways that you can receive free smoke detectors:
