Willingboro firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident with an entrapped driver at 6:07 pm on Saturday, April 18th. The two-car accident occured at the intersection of Levitt Parkway and Nottingham Drive. While the accident wasn't serious in nature, the impact did cause the driver's door of one vehicle to be damaged so it couldn't be opened by the driver.

Engine 1613 and Rescue 1699 arrived and Captain Gardner sized up the scene. The Captain reported that one driver was trapped during the accident. He had the crew of Engine 1613 use its Jaws of Life to force open the door. Before starting the extrication, Captain Gardner covered the driver with a protective blanket. Firefighter Bennett started to remove the door using the hydraulic spreaders. Firefighter D. O'Donnell used a rope to secure the door during the extrication.

The crew of Engine 1613 had the door opened in a matter of minutes. The driver was uninjured in the accident and refused medical treatment. All units were cleared from the scene at 6:42 pm.

Units: Engine 1613, Rescue 1699, and Ambulance 1692
